Vernacular Furniture and Traditional Crafts Day

Larchill is hosting a Vernacular and Traditional Irish Crafts Day on August 15th. Free tickets – please book tickets in advance.
During Heritage Week Larchill will open its doors with an incredible selection of talks and demonstrations, celebrating old Irish crafts.
Saturday will include talks and demonstrations on traditional Irish vernacular crafts, including lilting and whistling by Liam Jones, basketry with Beth Murphy, discussions on cob-walled buildings by Dr Seamus Cullen, demonstrations of greenwood vernacular furniture making, and Hannah Gallagher (National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park House) talking about old Irish clothing, as well as bringing examples. More to come!
Examples of vernacular furniture and crafts will be on display, and all those present can enjoy the talks, demonstrations, and workshops, as well as walk around the gardens and lake.
Saturday August 15th is free of charge. Free tickets must be reserved in advance. Limited tickets available.

There will be a Craft and Country Market on Sunday 16th from 10am to 2pm. Everyone welcome – €2 entry on the door.
